Money Point Lighthouse
Ecl_Lighthouse_Teal_11x14 $59There's an old mariner saying that says a fallen lighthouse is more dangerous than a reef. The Money Point Lighthouse, built in 1908 on the coast of Cape Breton Island, like thousands of others like it dotting the coasts of the world's oceans, offered solace to seafarers as they navigated the dangerous waters during storms and treacherous seas. In 1980, it was acquired by and moved to the Canada Science and Technology Museum (Ingenium) in Ottawa.
The Inspiration behind our Money Point Lighthouse Art Print
My parents were sailors. They sailed the great lakes, on the Atlantic and around the Caribbean in their floating home. They've shared many stories of sketchy ocean experiences and how the site of a lighthouse or beacon gave them a measure of comfort when they needed it most. This print makes a great addition to any cottage decor or for art collectors that appreciate nautical-inspired art.
