Polar Ice Hockey Bear

If you ask a non-Canadian to say the first thing that comes to mind when asked to describe Canada, don't be surprised by what they offer up. It may be an exaggeration or a stereotypical assumption, but you can almost expect some reference to a vast cold northern wilderness of ice, hockey players and winter animals.

Whether I'm right or not, it's precisely those assumptions that led me to design this piece. That, and my wife, having lived for a time in Churchill, Manitoba, challenging me to create a piece that incorporated polar bears. So I put my imagination, love of hockey, and twisted sense of humour to work and voila—Polar Ice Bear was born.
