Poutine Art Print

One day in 1957 Warwick Québec restauranteur Fernand LaChance was asked by a customer to add a bag of cheese curds to his fries to which he replied, "Ca va faire une maudite poutine" (That's going to make a damn mess"). Indeed, it was an odd request, but at that moment one of Canada's highest-caloric inventions was born. The gravy was a later addition, and today poutine is a popular delicacy that tops many a Canadian's guilty-pleasures lists.

The inspiration behind our Poutine Art Print

Who can't resist a gooey, delicious bowl of cheesy, gravy-smothered fries? One day as I was enjoying a yummy bowl of poutine-potato-heaven, I looked down at it and said, "What a work of art", at which point I repeated to myself, "I should make this a work of ManMade Art". And so I did. My poutine photo illustration is tucked into a 1950s styled paper bowl and hand-tinted to suit the era of colourized black and white photos and the decor of an old diner. Now you too can enjoy poutine over an over again (without the calorie hit).
