Buy any print on our store by midnight August 20, 2016, and we’ll donate 20% of the proceeds to the Gord Downie Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research Fund
Update August 22
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who purchased prints during our short fundraiser. I'm proud to pay it forward. Today ManMade Art donated over $100 dollars from the proceeds of sales to the Gord Downie Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research Fund. Every little bit helps in the fight against cancer and I'm glad to do my part.

The backstory
I’ve been a long...long...long-time fan of the Tragically Hip. I’ve followed the band since they broke on the scene in the late 80s, but my love for them was cemented with their 1999 release of Phantom Power. The release of their beautiful, melodic track 'Bobcaygeon' immediately moved me. I grew up on and around the Kawartha Lakes, and Bobcaygeon was a regular hangout. As kids we spent hours by the locks, swimming at the public beach, or stuffing our faces with Kawartha Dairy ice cream. As teens we'd lay on the grass and stare up into the stars and pick out the constellations. Listening to the lyrics for the first time (as they do now) transported me back to that place and time.
When I heard the tragic news (sorry there’s really no better word) of Gord Downie’s incurable brain cancer it hit me hard—really hard. When the tour was announced I knew we had to go see the band, and Gord, one final time. I was lucky to score a couple of tickets for the Ottawa show and waited with anticipation for months. But as much as I knew the show would be beyond amazing, and we’d have the opportunity to say goodbye to Gord one last time, I was left feeling empty.
That’s when my wife and I decided we had to do something more. Sure, a portion of our ticket purchase went to Sunnybrook Hospital's Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research, but it wasn't enough. We could do more. So we decided ManMade Art could do its part by raising additional funds. With the final tour date of August 20 looming, we decided we'd donate 20% of all sales made by August 20 at midnight to the Fund.
The fundraiser is underway and we're putting aside 20% of all sales in trust as it continues. On Sunday August 21 we'll make a one time donation to the Fund. Stay tuned for the final numbers on social media.
So please help us help Gord's cause and the Sunnybrook Hospital's work in cancer research. Pass this on to your friends and let’s all make a difference in our own small way. And if you can, make a donation directly to Sunnybrook and their important cancer research.
