Pac-Man burst onto the arcade scene in 1980. The Japanese game makers originally called it Puck-Man but changed it to Pac-Man to prevent machines being defaced (guess how if you can). In 1982 Atari launched Pac-Man on their 2600 game console and it became a smash hit. Millions of kids got hooked on the best-selling game of all time and its dot, monster, and ghost-eating Pac-Man character.
The inspiration behind our 'Retro Pac-Man' art print
Back in my college days, I blew a lot of my part-time job income on the arcade version of Pac-Man at my favourite beer hall. Ok, so I may have blown more money on cheap draft beer, but that’s beside the point. This print takes me back to those times and the old game consoles hooked up to 20” colour TVs. I’ve also built in a few details that all you Pac-Man experts will surely appreciate.
